When Tawney started dancing at age three, it was clear she wanted to be a dancer, just like her mom. Over the years Tawney performed with all companies at Strutt and was an award winning competitor.

Upon graduation, Tawney spent the next 11 years living in Los Angeles, California, where she signed with two major talent agencies. Tawney has performed all over the world and has been featured in film and television projects, along with commercials for Macys, Nickelodeon, Belk, and Ski-Do, to name a few. She has done industrials for Nike, Tyco, Cea-Do , Bellagio-Las Vegas, Disney, and more. Also a talented singer, Tawney recorded a country album and sang live at the "Michael Landon" VHI awards in New York City.

She has walked the red carpet with stars such as Christina Aguilera, Cheryl Tiegs, Jewel, Hal Sparks and Haley Eisenberg. She also filmed a TV pilot for VH1 called "Break Thru" on what it takes to become a recording artist. Tawney is currently a member of the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular.

Presently Tawney is living in South Carolina fulfilling her deep passion for teaching and choreography at Southern Strutt. She works with all jazz companies but is best known for her work with the Pee Wee Company and her ability to train young children way beyond their years. She credits her knowledge to her mom, her mentor.

Tawney continues to commute to New York City on a regular basis to audition and work in the business.
